“Neither I, nor anyone else can travel that road
for you. You must travel it by yourself. It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know. Perhaps it
is everywhere- on water and land"
-- Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass

Dreaming of a quiet bonding moment with someone or probably a place to spend with friends...
last year I had a chance to go to Sierra Madre
Mountain Resort together with my friends to take in some fresh air, somewhere pleasing to the eyes,
somewhere I can attach myself more with nature, seeing the
beautiful and greeny view scenery of God creation, mountains,
trees, birds, and so on that go in harmony
with the blue sky.

Sierra Madre Hotel and Resort in Tanay, Rizal is
a fantastic getaway. The kind of experience we had in this large resort went
beyond our expectations. What’s more nice about it is the fact that it’s close
to the Metro Manila area which makes it a perfect escape from the city’s noise
and heat. This serene place is definitely a great venue for retreats, seminars,
conference, family outings and team building activities.

The place
seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. It’s along Marcos Highway.

How
to get there:
This resort is very
easy to get to from Quezon City. Just take the Katipunan road heading towards
Marcos Highway, straight on past Cogeo market, through the twisty mountain
roads, and you’ll eventually find yourself at the hotel located along the
highway. The road is very well
maintained and not a lot of cars pass here,
which makes the drive a very pleasant one.

This is the place where the only noise you will
hear is the howling of the wind. It is too serene that time seems to stop and
everything becomes perfect.
When we arrived, we quickly started exploring
the area. We walked
along a pathway that offers a scenic view
We walked
down until we reach the Spring Valley, a part of the resort located
far from the main building. It has a more private pool, one is color blue, and
the other is green with its water coming directly from the mountain.
Breathtaking Sierra Madre View
The place is very beautiful. There is a
platform built adjacent to the pool where tables and chairs were set up, it is
overlooking the mountains. That’s where I found utmost relaxation. There was
nothing remarkable about the food, but the stunning view of the mountainside
made it memorable, especially where we were eating our food.
One of my favorite in the whole place would be
their hanging bridge. The Pine trees around it are really beautiful. When I
crossed that bridge, I was looking around, My eyes were focused looking on the
trees, the horses, the blue sky with the beautiful clouds, the humming of the
birds. The mountain and more scenery view, because I wanted to keep the amazing
view in my head.
Everywhere I looked, the view was comforting to
the eyes. And made my mind relaxing and refreshing. The resort has a Greek themed garden,
highlighted with Greek statues
I had always been in love with nature and its
beauty. All the time I am in that place, I had nothing left in mind but to
praise God for this life He has given me and the chance to see such beautiful
creation.
As we explore the
resort we found out that, the resort has its own waterfall and a Prayer
Mountain which has an awesome view of Rizal’s mountainous slopes. So if you are
religious this place is perfect for you to have meditation. Some of my company
decided to climb to the Prayer Mountains. I decided to stay in the
waterfalls. We saw also some tourist that stayed that place and enjoyed the
scenic view of the waterfall. After an hour we decided to go back to the
clubhouse and take some pictures.
Sierra Madre Mountain resort is a very nice
place, the location is wise. I’d say this place is perfect for weekend getaway.
